It is elusive if not done selectively.

I will illustrate this by way of using a parallel example.

If you sail in shark infested waters it is most imprudent to trail your hand in the water as it rushes past. This is because there is grave risk of having it bitten off.

Your own hand is far more valuable to you than it can ever be as a titbit for an unseen predator.
