Im a student ,studying for a degree in international relations ,hoping to gain first class honors. A career in trading is a definite aspiration of mine and because of the units included in my degree im able to really look into and gain a background on the world trading system.

As the subject field does not have a quantitative background im looking to boost my cv by adding a range of field based qualifications.

i know of things such as the cisi diplomas and cfa courses but im looking for some sound advice on which courses will really help boost my cv and get my foot in the door.

Hi there

Do you know what you would like to trade for example indices, shares, currencies, futures?
I suggest opening a demo account and grasping the basics from that before taking any profession qualifications.

hi matt

I haven't got a real preference in a specific area at the moment and would hopefully get a real look in to each during work expierience / internships.

Its getting a chance a at the big firms , through my qualifications , that im worried about and being well rounded when it comes to applying.

But i will definitely start now a demo account and showing activity in the markets.

Thanks

I see where you are coming from firms are very selective when it comes to employing people. Check out the education section on www.babypips.com although forex related the information on indicators can be applied to any market.

Good Luck
