A strange thing happened to me on one of my position the other day.
I brought a daily Nasdaq with a certain spread bet company, the position went up briefly then started to drop, it then remained low.
I set my limits and stops and logged off - when I logged on, to my dismay my stops and limits had both been cancelled for no reason. I couldn't get in touch with anyone and no one answered my emails (surprise - surprise).
It was what happened next that was a shock. Because the SB firms computer had made a mistake and though it was a half day, my position was closed early. A bit annoying because the Nasdaq rallied a little - So what did the SB do?? they closed my position at the highest price of the day, which was very nice of them - so instead of taking a 15 pt loss - I had a 4 point gain
It was a nice change to come out better off because of something like this.
