I've currently got an AMD Athlon XP 3000+ 2.17GHz CPU.
If I get a new PC, I'm looking at an Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400S / 2.66 GHz.
Arithmetic tells me this is going to be at least 20% faster because of the GHz difference.
But is this going to be twice as fast because it's got 2 CPUs? I guess that's what the Core 2 means - or does it have 4? (Quad?)
