One needs to treat these boards like one treats the markets. One needs tremendous self discipline and patience before getting in to a thread or engaging with a poster. There are a number of traps laid that can easily get one in to useless debates with the usual suspects and then one starts getting frustrated. I thought there were some reasonable points made amongst the dross, which as you say would do the Augean stables proud.

The trouble is (as with so many topics about trading) there is not really a great deal of use to be said. A few good points, and the rest is ego trips and circuar arguments. And in any case, it is possible for people to disagree and both be right in practical terms.

It's probably just an inherent feature of trading discussions.

I'm sure it involves a deep understanding of market psychology to understand when to expect a 10 pip move in a trillion dollar market simply by looking at a representative bucket shop chart.
