S&P 500 & other indexes - intraday. Plus chat

You aren't going to gloat about me using software that isn't ready?

Nor that I should know better?

Very nice of you, sir... being in the industry & all.

I'd gloat to be honest

Of course not Pedro - that's the whole point of participating in/performing an alpha - you find out sh1t like this.

Anyway, I don't need poor performing software to help me loose - look at my first short on Friday http://www.trade2win.com/boards/ind...dexes-intraday-plus-chat-324.html#post1950386 - I can do it all on my own :LOL::clap:;)

Stupid bug - got 2 windows open - restarted the one but the other one stayed open without a restart - so for some reason one is showing one thing and the other something completely different.

I thought on Friday I'd set the qty wrong but today I thought there's no way I'd done it again.

So - 2 windows talking to the back end - but not talking to each other. I nailed the low before a 9 point move up and got $50 for it.

The market mocks me. I've yet to make a trading mistake that made me money instead of costing me money. Shouldn't it be 50/50????

Try again.

I'm getting pretty fed up of this 'bad news is good news because we get more QE that we crave' nonsense. Was 5 points onside and back to break even in no time.. pfff. Still in the trade, just looking for a couple of points from here and will call it a day.

I would strongly suggest reading this if you are discretionary, have read any Kahneman and liked it or have read any of Andrew Lo's work on Adaptive Market Hypothesis or other works associated with behavioural finance.

This author is a neuroscientist who was once a trader and he dissects from a neurological/physiological PoV what is going on when we make trading decisions, execute, manage, assess risk, etc, etc.

Well that's more like it... two trades today. One 5 point winner and this one that is still open. Stop is at break even (with a little breathing room in case of any slippage). I'm planning to hold this into tomorrow hoping that Ben dissapoints big time... my gut feeling is he will. My plan was to hold a short trade with breathing room into tomorrow so very pleased. But who knows, these are crazy times and you never know what might happen.

This has been one of the quietest months I can remember. Thus far I have taken 2 trades, and seen one other opportunity (missed because I was away from my desk for a short period).

That is it.

I'm going to have to think of some strategies for trading ranges. (n)

Can you smell a sell-off today?
