S&P 500 cash weekly competition for 2016 with PRIZES!

Here's the scoreboard for the end of week 11. One more week in this quarter but plenty of chances before the end of the year.
Pat494 has had more than one 'pint of plain' this St Patricks day, he's still leading our merry band with 14 points.
Second place is jeffre4 on 10, and third is f2calv with his extraordinarily complicated algorithm for working out the weeks forecast. (Theres a Quants job going for you at The Goldman if you win it this quarter).

I'm going to take the 2008 slot recently vacated by NickBk.

I came over all bullish so for sure you picked well.

Flat now but impressed with the speed of this mornings jump and that Dow just does not want to go down.

Here it is, the last week of the first quarter. Ta Da !
NickBK after a last minute change of heart is the only bull in the village. Everyone else has come down with a bout of the grizzlies.
1 bull - 14 bears, you know what the S&P is going to do.
A really narrow range this week, volatility in our group is reduced to 72 points.
The wheel of fortune is spinning! Good luck!

Aye aye, he's only gone and done it again, at the end of a short week (and a long first quarter).
Captain Pat494 takes Gold.
Lexcorp Silver.
Mike Bronze.

That S&P though, everyone wanted it to go down but 13 points was a bit of a joke, nothing seems to hold it back.

It should come as no surprise to some that at the end of the first quarter the winner is

Pat494

Finishing in style with a 3rd Gold for the quarter to go with the Silver and Bronze, and a grand total of 18 points.
Second place (no prize :() was jeffre4 with 11 points, including a Silver and 3 Bronze places.
Third place newcomer f2calv (soon to be 'The Goldman's' next quant) on 10 points coveting a Gold, Silver and Bronze position.

There is a problem however, :-0. The rules stipulate "...prize money will be rolled forward until a human contestant wins..." so first Pat494 has to prove he is actually human.

The $100 prize is pending this confirmation. ;)

Well done Pat, super calls and perhaps it's not really true what they say about teaching old dogs new tricks. :):)

Competition is great as ever with more prize money and good management. The comp is certainly in very good pair of safe hands with Postman. Most enjoyable and big thank you...
