This thread is talking about an honest, reliable service. In that category, the opinion of this member is that Oanda beats most of them by a long shot.
i agree with you. Oanda is more reliable and honest than other brokers i tried.

I am looking for a reliable trading platform/dealer that will work in volatile times when there is spike in volume (ex: NFP and FOMC) regardless of traders account size.

FXCM is as bet as it gets- they turn off small players to cater their lager institutional traders. And that by no means is good business and a way to trade.

Thanx

you can try marketiva just try it and you will find great platform and so familiar .im trading with them from long time and i didnt find any problems with deposit or withdraw or any support.i feel so happy with them.so dont belive me till you try it by yourself:)

Don't fall for this scam by a new poster ! They tried it over at Elite Trader and were promptly shown to be scammers touting a business with post box addresses and not registered. See below:

The problem with forex brokers is that they are all bucket shops, not upholding the highest standards of doing business.

For the lesser of evils, try an ECN broker like COESfx or IB.

In your search for ECN-model brokers, you will run across Hotspot. But they have a manual dealing desk, instead of straight through processing...not what you want.

HI Punch

Do you have any experience dealing with COESfx ? I recently got a demo
account and the platform look and feel looks very similar to the Island ECN
equivalent in stock trading. But it's pretty heavy as well as everything is Java.
I believe there is also a subscription fee of $99/month.

Let us know if you have any first-hand experience and what your opinion is.

Thanks
SD

I agree with others that oanda.com is about as good as a forex bucket shop gets. Even so, their normal 1.5 pip spread usually goes to 5-10 pips for 3-5 minutes during NFP and FOMC announcements.

which is not acceptable tbh, quotes on lava, hotspot and even ib stay under 4 pips during periods of high volatility

SD, I have heard good things about COESfx. Their model looks good on paper, but I don't have direct experience with them. I use another broker.

What's URL of COESfx ?

at present living in philippines for short time, will return to uk shortly. however, have tried to get oandas demo account to work, using an internet cafe, but when i log on their demo account, i cant get it to register my account number. have also tried capital spreads and some others, is this because i am using their trading platforms in an internet cafe? Or somethin else?
Remember, am not using a live account, just demo version.
Grateful for any suggestions. Many thanks.
Kevin
