Private Forums v Social Groups

Social Groups = everyone can read but only members can post.
Private Forums = does what it says on the tin, only members can read and post.
Something on those lines I believe

So whereas before the ‘excluded ones’ could only wonder in awe and frustration what it was we all talked about in the PFs, now they can see what they’re being specifically excluded from.
Can I have a Private Forum to (with a few elite, hand-picked members only) take the mickey out of those who aren’t allowed to participate in the Social Groups?
More seriously, why are they called ‘Social Groups’. Although the current majority seem to be along those lines, surely something less ‘needlework and beer-making’ could have been used. Special Topic Groups or something like that?
