For me, a quality spread betting provider has to have a robust trading platform and decent customer service to deal with the inevitable issues that come up. How about you? What are your top 'must haves' for selecting a spread betting provider?

IMO they're all much better than they used to be, but some still ignore e-mails and have 'helpdesk' (a misnomer) people that fail the attitude test and add insult to injury by not really knowing anything.
It's a pity that you need to open an account, make a few trades and probably lose some money to identify the good and bad.

They should display the initial margin required in a transparent manner, once you have determined the bet size and the stop size, before the trade is placed.

There is a definite need for a new type of order:

"Buy at the low of the day and sell at the high"

and the converse:

"Sell at the high of the day and buy at the low".

I imagine this could be quite popular.

Haha don't know if that one will ever see the light of day! :cheesy:
