Sorry I didn't realise he had posted five years of back testing. My apologies, please point out in which post this is detailed. I imagine it is fairly comprehensive. I must have missed it.

Don't worry about it. Just as long as you keep going over the same thing over and over I guess that is what makes you happy.

You seem to use these boards as a way to vent frustration. If that works, good for you. Better venting it here than in your trading or personal life.

If I've understood this correctly, the potential reward from this trade is only half the risk accepted in order to achieve it. Risk 140 / reward 70? This is unconventional, but not necessarily a problem if the probability of a successful trade is high. Perhaps you'd care to outline your thinking on this issue?

Hi TIMSK : I agree with you, this is the case where a high/ very high win/loss ratio makes the pattern succesful although stops are usually double or more than the limits.

How are you arriving at the TOTAL ACCUMULATED figure? If I add up the individual percentages you've quoted then I get a sum of 26.72% - and your total is 24.23

This suggests to me that you are investing pretty much all your capital in an individual share and banking a tiny profit. This seems to be a very risky strategy to me. To get the 24.23% profit you could not have held more than one share at a time and it only takes a unexpected profit warning in your security to wipe out your profits and more.

Hoggums : I have calculated again the accumulated and i dont see the mistake you say. For me now +23.23 % is correct. I can have more than one opened trade because I execute the trades with CFDs with 10 -20% margin per trade so I can have 4 or 5 opened positions at the same time. A profit warning can close a trade with a 10-20% loss but also can close it with a 10-20 % profit. In the long term profit warnings have no effect , one day you can have a huge loss and another a huge profit.
