Haven't studies proven that classical music helps to focus the mind and improves intellect?

yes there is evidence that this is the case, especially for children and their development; called "the Mozart effect".

"The Mozart Effect" is the name attributed to psychologists' findings in 1993, that playing Mozart to their subjects increases their spatial-temporal reasoning.

When bad news crosses the ticker on Bloomberg, they show it once or twice...good news is flashed repeatedly all day long.
