no charts, pleazzzzeeee ! just your call in time !

pleazzzzzzzzzzeeeeeeeee.

too late !

Re: no charts! isnt it a fine rule? only trades!

sure. but if were to jot down all of the info on the trade, it would take more time to search the chart to review it at a later date rather than having it right in front of my face. wouldn't it.

if others are going to take the time to look at my journal, in which they are free to do, maybe they want to see what encouraged me to open the position. its a public forum. I can track my own performance with my trade reports. why fight the technology? thanks.

so much for having QUALITATIVE data, along with quantitative data while proving the invention of my wheel. do you have a better suggestion? I'll tell you what...once you have a chance to reply to this, I'll delete my journal. how's that sound? wouldn't want to help any new traders out would we?(n)

ok then Bill. you're awesome.

sorry everyone, my journal will be removed in a couple of hours thanks to Billy Bob. I will keep my images private in my control panel. I don't need this **** in my journal.

Good Trading. Mud.

Re: no charts, pleazzzzeeee ! just your call in time !

sorry, did I miss a rule for the forum? no charts? that is fine if this is the rule?
Hi mudskipper,
Welcome to T2W!
The only rules are those laid down in the site guidelines. As for charts, most members would say more the merrier, so pssonice is definitely in a minority on that score. If you want to take steps to ensure your journal is as rewarding as it can be, check out the 'Essentials of Trading Journals' Sticky.
Enjoy!
Tim.

sounds great Tim, thanks, will definitely have a look, then maybe retry at a later date.

what I was trying to teach the other member was so eloquently stated in the sticky, here it is:

"That’s just the start. Ideally, the trader takes a screen grab of any relevant charts showing where the trade was opened and closed. A picture paints a thousand words and, in doing this, many traders have looked back over old trades and, from the screen capture alone, wondered what on earth possessed them to take the trade! Additionally, a note will be made of the specific trade set up employed, as well as the entry and exit triggers used to execute the trade. Some journalists even have a system for evaluating all three objectively, so that at the end of the week or month, they can see where their
strengths and weaknesses lie.

Much of the above relates to statistical information, most of which will be recorded for you by your broker. To take a journal beyond a mere log and into true journal territory, the trader really needs to note how they feel about themselves, the markets and anything else pertinent to their trading"

This quote is really so true. I've used chart captures before to revaluate my decisions to improve my trading. I need the screen captures so I will keep them around me for this reason.

Tim, can u delete this thread please? I can't seem to figure that out either. Thanks.
Hi mudskipper,
No, I'm afraid I can't do that as that would be against the rules! However, I can close it for you if needs be, although I'm not sure why you'd want to having only just started it? Why don't you continue with this one and do what you initially set out to do? And if you want to post charts - you go right ahead. My personal view is that journals without charts alienate a lot of members who might make worthwhile contributions as the majority use TA in their market analysis. Journals that just contain entry, stop and exit prices are pretty meaningless in themselves and make dreadfully dull reading. But that's just my view.
;)
Tim.

thanks again Tim.

watch 11350 for a bounce. could set stop at BE if you are overleveraged and biting your nails. I am waiting to set to BE yet as ej could bounce back up to my entry quite easily off 11350.

Almost got your profit target hit! I'm long EJ from 112.73, 112.90, 113.24 and 113.55. Been buying this quite aggressively today.

nice! glad to see you're following. I'm off to work tonight so will be out of here shortly. stops are at BE now that we are in this chop again. we'll see how it goes. I'm in a short scalp from earlier still. left for a cigar, and it was a pip off my TP so babysitting it now. moral of the story, don't leave for a stog when you are scalping...
