ehh..... how does that sit with competing and being the best? what next, you can only earn 3% a quarter the rest will be seized or something ?

sick of them whinging about northen rock, let it collapse....... **** em..... **** em....

moan, moan, moan, moan moan...... **** em....

sorry...... but just get the sense these blokes and female are off the trolley if they think they need to change human nature to ease future banking and money issues.... would'nt be surprised if John Cleese stands up and says "Yes, change human nature with regards to money and throw in world peace while your at it "

Is it serious would it matter in the big scheme of things ??

"......The financial economy operates on the basis of compound interest, whilst nature works in harmony with simple interest: money deposited in a bank becomes more but it is difficult for an apple tree to produce a harvest with compound interest......"

".......In this way, there is disjuncture between the natural and financial economies, and the result is either the progressive destruction of nature or the absence of redistributive social justice, which has been at the root of financial crashes throughout history.......".

The BOE prints the money as & when it wants. So surely the notion of P/L is meaningless  :?:

Actually, that's not true. Sure, if we humans consume all the apples from every tree, then there is no opportunity for compound interest. Left to it's own, however, the seeds in the apples with produce additional trees, which will then produce more apples. More trees = more seeds = more future trees = more future apples. Sounds like compounding to me.

compound interest is consuming all the apples on every tree.
