dear all

after reading some of the comments i would be grateful for some advice.

I'm day trading the ftse 100 daily.

I have been trading for about 6 months with some wisdom - i'm not doing badly as i've have managed to manage my risk etc. I am currently sticking with my current strategy which is trying to sell close to resistance and buy close to support depending on the trend.

I currently use an macd indicator and an adx and di indicators plus i have the 200mas on each of my charts a 3 min, 10 min and a daily chart. As you have mentioned sometimes the indicators lag so that if i were to enter a trade on them i would be way above/below my target entry price. I am trying to work out how i can wean myself off the indicators or not rely on them so much as i can clearly see sometimes that the market has say reached resistance (as i also work this out based on the atr) and the candles are telling me to sell but without my indicators confirmation i sometimes hesitate and miss the trade.

Would anyone recommend another indicator that can be closer to those points?

Any advice would be gratefully received.

do a search on the Ichimoku indicators. Go from there. Not all indicators are liars.

Hi aamarx, first of all many tks for your hard work it has been a great help to me,I am going to post a chart that I used to trade from Friday 28 May.I have labelled it up with the trades I took and brief reasons why. I mainly look for -8/+8 on value chart on approach to a power zone with a bit of divergence I use 2 point stop and aim to get filled at zone level once trade goes in my direction move stop up to entry or below to reduce risk, my targets are normally between 3/4 points depending on order flow. I am posting chart because I sometimes lose discipline with my trading and take stupid trades or get out to early and generally do not stick to my plan, with posting this I hope (a)it will help others and (b) help me stick to my simple trading plan.
Again thanks aamarx (y)
