why FTSE n GOLD fell togethor?

I usually find that FTSE is less manipulated than DOW and reflects true value.

Moves better with trends similar to gold.

wat FTSE stand for? .. and wat are the datas that affect it..which country trades it? and is there any site where i can read any article about its history?
