Dow Jones

INDU: This index (Dow Jones) holds many Blue Chip (large cap) stocks and many people key this index to measure what the overall markets are doing. We're in a major trend right now. See whether you should be playing longs or not.

As you can imagine, the videos would simply be too big for you to download if I talked about all areas of what I see in my trades.

Maybe one day the T2W boyz will find it in their heart to host my videos on their server so you do not have to download each one. This would give me more time to explain what I see on each trade. ;)

I am watching with interest

Regarding downloading the videos..

Personally, I don't actually download them. I just left click on the link and it opens up in Windows Media Player and streams from the server.

I am using broadband though and maybe that makes a difference.

New thread idea

Perhaps a new thread might serve as a better place for questions about alternative video platforms or resources. A new thread might keep those traders who want to see this collection of videos from having to read too many perephial posts to get to what they want to see. Just a friendly thought.

To All: Feel free to Private Message me with any questions or thoughts at any time. As some will attest too, I do respond to each one.

Respectfully,

Des, there's no way you're going to keep a thread clear of clutter unless you're running your own forum (a la Price & Volume and CANSLIM).

One man's 'clutter' is another's 'valid point'. I'm as guilty as the next of clutter (probably much more guilty actually).

However, I do support your thinking on this and as helpful as Zenda's posts were, they probably deserve their own thread.

Joe, again

JOE: Sometimes you miss out on profits by sticking with your system/strategy. That's okay though. The house in the casinos give some money away from time-to-time also. However they know that the odds are with them at the end of the day.

Do you want me to move the posts on making videos/other vids to a new thread?

Des,

sorry to interupt you excellent thread but i think this might be a relevant point, going on from your poker player video, I recently read that a top poker player when asked to provide three tips to improve performance he said that tattooed on his computer in order of importance were:

a) Be patient
b) Be ruthless
c) Study and never stop learning.

Hi des,

I was just wondering how much fundamentals and/or company news/company announcements affect your stock picking decisions. Do you rely solely on TA and ignore everything else or do they play a part in your selection process? How important would you say they are? If for example you saw a large bullish candle one day accompanied by big volume, which caused the price to break thru resistance, but it was the same day that the company was headlined on tv or in the financial press, how would you treat such a scenario?

Thanks very much for your informative thread.

Have a good one :)

Hey Samtron,

Thanks for the post. Fundamentals are second to technicals (for me). Technicals tells us what happening right now. However, as you might have heard in a recent video, I use IBDs (www.investors.com) top 100 picks for my hot list to find stock prospects. these are aggressively growing companies with strong fundamentals. This allows me to double-dip. I have strong fundamental list to find my technical setups for entry and exit.

I try to never hold stock on news (80% of them will drop regardless of the news being good or bad).

Nice one Des.

Good to see you back, you're video posts are always very clear and easy to follow, much apreciated.

Hello Des, I was wondering if you are familiar with www.sixer.com? I know you use IBD for your stock picks and very good they are too but I would like to hear your views on sixer as I have a subscription. I have to say I find your posts quite inspirational even though I dont actually trade that way, some of your observations are universal truths and as such can be applied to all forms of trading irrespective.

Happy trading.

Yo Eddy,

I can't speak to the Sixer, because I don't know a lot about it. However I did visit the site and saw that it helps with general "picks" and gives subscribers screeners to use.

What I like about www.investors.com is that they give me (technical analyst) a butt-load of fundamental stocks to find picks from. So in essence, I am double dipping and getting the best of both worlds (hopefully) increasing my odds of success going long. This just makes since to me, but I can't speak for anyone else. However those that I mentor see this powerful combination in action and tend to agree with me by the success that they see from it. personally.

BTW, some of you guys that see the obvious benefits to use a mentor and consider it a smart investment should fly over to the states and visit me. What a great reason to come to the states--education! I would make a fun experience for you. :)
