I am a beginner , would like to know if I need to take any exams required by FSA in order to be a trader. As far as I know, this is the case for stockbrokers.
You need a GCSE in Money Management, A level Psychology and Mathematics and an economics degree in statistics and methodology! If you want to even come CLOSE to understanding what a moving average is.

What sort of trader do you want to be? Market maker, sales-trader, exe, prop, quant, home, etc
You don't need anything unless you are handling client money and orders. For example, if you were a futures sales-trader, you would need to be FSA approved and would need an SII in financial derivatives.
