How about a topical topic like

How the EU wastes billions but as in the case of the Emperor's clothes hardly anyone notices its bankrupt.

I don't think I'd be able to write a whole dissertation on that. I really wanted to do something on Mergers & Acquisitions but it doesn't seem to be working very well.

Anything similarly related will have to do i suppose.
