Does anyone have any idea why the chicago PMI came out around three minutes early today? 😱 Was it genuinely early or could anyone have had access to it prior to its release? I'm not accusing anyone, just an honest query from a trader caught with offers in!!! 🙁

this number is available to subscribers a few minutes earlier than its general release to the public..............screwed up ,but there you go.

What's Chicago PMI?

There I was, happily keeping an eye on non-farm payrolls thinking that they were the be-all and end-all yesterday. Payroll data comes out, appear to be flat, and then when I'm least expecting it there's a double-whammy of the US opening up their strategic oil reserves and the Chicago PMI data. AUDUSD and GBPUSD shorts all gone to hell.

Is there a site that ranks these US announcements by importance?

each report is graded a-d.

generally, i am not a news based trader, so i never enter a position 10m before a report. when out, i then wait for the market to calm down a minute or 2 afterwards.
