What's confusing for me is that the wider your screen, the formatting of the chart changes so the trends, if you draw at 45 degrees, also change....

How do you tackle this?

If there is a big move i have to reformat the size.particularly if price moves out of the range

Ye but if the trend line is at 45 degrees and adjust the width or height of the chart, you're essentially just matching the price action to a 45 degree line right?.

Yes
In pnf theory
If price does not move up or down by 1 box...it is not trending
