Guys this is just silly now, Simon is IMHO a good sport for putting up with as much as he does on this thread. Now this barrack room barrister stuff has surely reached it's pointless end. Me 2 i appreciate simon's efforts in this forum but also yeah ofcourse it is a silly discussion , when someone indicates in his T&C that we may put ur money outside but hey we r not responsible for any loss and u may not get the same protection as if we held it inside , then he comes here say your money has the same protection ! this is **** silly yeah i agree , i dont have a problem with putting money outside but dont come here and say we still have the same protection ! put the money where ever u want but dont say things we know it is not true for God sake ...

Hey, come on Black Swan, I think Simon can stand this kind of heat, which in fact is a very polite discussion about an important subject. Simon has done very well for several years now, even at times when the discussions on this thread were totally out of control. As long as the language is proper I don't see any problem whatsoever about the discussion at hand.

I don't see the MD of CMC monitoring his own thread on 'ere constantly answering questions in good humour (mostly😀)...and for being prepared to step up he (Simon) deserves much credit IMO. But this latest thread twist was going nowhere...

Yes, Simon deserves a lot credit for staying on and posting on this thread. But it is also in CS interest to keep it alive as it gives a lot of exposure, goodwill and valuable feedback for improving support and service towards its growing client base. This is a discussion forum, and members should feel free to post as long as they feel they can contribute in a constructive way. Last year Simon has not been onboard that much, and I do find his answers not being as sharp as they used to be, this despite of a much better discussion climate on this thread.

as you are no doubt aware things have been getting alot tougher and (unfortunately) i have been spending a great deal of time on issues other than just running the Spread Betting division. I feel that your comment is probably right on the button that my answers have been less 'direct' than in the past and i will attempt to do better in the future.

Part of the problem is that we are being squeezed by what we are actually allowed to say anymore. At what point does my comment become 'advise' and therefore illegal under the ever more stringent regulatory environment (or, indeed, some comment made in good faith might open LCG up to a dispute). The rules (for all of the reams of volumes written) seem to become ever more opaque and for those of you who attempt to read them there must be a feeling that plain english is not something that ever occurs to the writers. Or, if you were cynical like me, you would possibly speculate that lack of clarity is actually the aim as then the regulator can claim several 'different conclusions' out of the same sentence and therefore find you guilty no matter how you answer!

We now have to call in specialist firms to decipher the rules for us and even after this we are still not sure much of the time.

this is probably the weekend charge which is three times the weekday rate...as it must take into account friday/saturday/sunday nights rater than just one overnight charge. If the number was 2.5 times this is probably to do with 'rounding' issues as charges of small amounts are affected considerably by this.

if this is not the case then you should contact our customer services team immediately
