Brexit - in or out

Osborne's sealed his Brexit fate. He appears to have lost the plot completely, I don't think I've ever read such political madness on the BBC news website!

8/15 remain versus 6/4 leave today, which is a far cry from 1/8 and 6/1 a few weeks ago.

Like lambs to the slaughter they trot.

It was interesting watching mark Carney from BoE trying to brush off any claims that he had been influenced in any way by George Osborne when he was giving evidence in front of the select committee, Even though he admitted numerous phone calls and emails between him and Osborne...It makes you think how much Cameron has forced Osborne's hand with reference to all the scare tactics and what we'll may be his demise.

He's up against it.

Govt does what? What is Govt. for ?

Silly me. Once upon a time I thought one voted in a govt that you believed had ideals and aspirations similar to your own. That being so, you trusted them to make decisions on your behalf relating to running the country with your interests ( cough) at heart. Now Cameron et al, ask us if we should stay in or out. Then throw their toys out of the pram when people actually edge toward favouring "out."
if they are elected on a mandate to govern then why the fart do they need us to advise them whether staying in or out is in our best interest. They are supposed to know what is best for us -that's why we voted for them. If they aren't sure what is best for us then hold another election.
Seems like they were gambling ( rather like the Scottish question) on a desired outcome (staying in) to impress someone or some group but failed big time.
I was going to post more but cannot be arsed. Therefore, back into obscurity I go.

if they are elected on a mandate to govern then why the fart do they need us to advise them whether staying in or out is in our best interest. BECAUSE THEY HAVEN'T GOT A CLUE THEMSELVES ! AND BECAUSE WE ONLY GET ONE DAY OF DEMOCRACY EVERY FIVE YEARS They are supposed to know what is best for us -that's why we voted for them. If they aren't sure what is best for us then hold another election.WHAT ! AND SWAP ONE LOT OF FOOLS AND SCOUNDRELS FOR ANOTHER?

Alas poor Neil, despair and cynicism = wisdom, experience and maturity
Be well and don't let the ba8888ds get you down :)

When governments fail to deal with people's legitimate concerns, then what do they expect ! At some point they will be held accountable. They can only talk their way around the issues for so long, then the day of reckoning arrives. This issue has been simmering for longer than most.

When we leave, it will shake the Europeans out of their collective stupor.
Others will follow us out.
They will all thank us for liberating them in time to come.

What we must do is show them how to engage and prosper in the global economy.
So, no sitting back watching it all fall apart.
We need to get out there and make it happen.

I think leave or stay (I hope the former) there will be change. You don't get a vote this close and just continue business as usual.

There are certainties in life, such as the poor and prostitution. Another is very few will be the bosses, most people are bossed. So leave or stay we will still be bossed by someone. The clots in Westminster or the clowns in Brussels.

My certainty at this very moment

With Brexit will we be back to our beloved feet and inches ? Toss grams in the bin for ounces, pounds for kilos ?
Going the extra kilometre never really caught on too much.

:)

Man walks up to the fruit and veg stall.

Stallholder says "yes sir, how can I help"?

Man "I'd like 5lbs of potatoes please".

Stallholder "I'm sorry sir, we only deal in kilos".

Man "OK, i'll have 5lbs of kilos".

It will serve those clowns in Brussels right if their incompetence causes a Brexit. Nobody wants to stay with a badly run and organised group. They had their chances. Good thing really if the " house of cards " falls over sooner than later imho.

Most people I spoke to today with the exception of two have been strongly in favour of voting IN. At work whole departments are in favour of in.

Polls are questionable on how they pick their sample groups?

Similarly, I can imagine London being in favour as much of its wealth depends on its cosmopolitan standing. So my poll likely to be not very representative of the rest of the UK.

http://www.standard.co.uk/business/...and-don-t-need-to-risk-any-more-a3271336.html Avoiding risk betterin. Brexit is not only very risky but in self induces a self inflicted recession and potential global fall out lasting many years from which outcome is highly negative for the UK by studies.

London is really scared along with the markets at a potential Brexit now. We are only talking about it and businesses are feeling the chill. I'm scared my self on how a Brexit will unfold as outcomes not looking good at all. Simply years of uncertainty.

tbh I think you need to grow a pair and stop talking Britain down.

I tried to explain this to you previously.
The Brits are extremely resourceful and I have no doubt that we will go out into the world and make a great success of it. How big a success we make of it will depend on how bold we are.

Post leave, nothing changes, it's business as usual. We should use this time to make progress by getting out there and negotiating more deals with the rest of the world, whilst making suitable reciprocal arrangements with the EU. This will be the challenge for our own government and we can judge their achievements accordingly.
