Has anyone read this ebook? It's got to be one of the best trading book titles ever written, but is it actually any good? I can't find anything here on searches, apparently it advocates scaling in a price zone and using a median technique to help gauge entry and exit. There's a thread on the author and the book here, it does actually sound quite interesting.

I got it a month or so ago. Good stuff and a daily email market take from the author following purchase. I generally read it too because it is well informed and perceptive. I've only dabbled with FOREX hitherto and have not tried to back test his principles at all - yet.

It does appear pretty safe though. Trend /median trading is a succinct description of his system. He is fundamentally against highly geared trading - standard 100:1 accounts are a big no no - and don't even think about 400:1. He's good on both trade and risk management. So you won't lose your shirt - but neither are you likely to compound your pot in the other direction with undue speed either.

Have to say I leaned from it and it's a publication I will revisit.

You mean he is against any kind of leverage above 2:1..
Received the book last night and read half so far.
The book is certainly an interesting read and looking forward to reading the rest tonight.

BWILC review

I would also have to give 'Bird Watching in Lion Country' the thumbs up.

I have written a full review of the book, but it's a rather long review so here's a quick excerpt:

"This review is not going to be your average, run-of-the-mill book review. I won’t be providing an overview or even chapter by chapter breakdown of the book’s contents. Pretty much all the concepts and insights that the book contains are now littered throughout my postings on this blog. The information and the approach to trading the forex market that Dirk du Toit lays out in the four sections of the book have been absorbed by my mind and now colour the way that I look at the forex world. None of the ideas or views put forward in the book are revolutionary in isolation. On the other hand, if your trading education to date has focused primarily on technical indicators, short time frames and ‘beating’ the market then the contents of the book will open a window on a new world. Dirk asks you to see the forex world afresh."

A funny and concise article: Pseudo-Interview with Dirk du Toit. This is a book summary of BWILC.

(I can't post link here, google "Pseudo-Interview with Dirk du Toit" and you will find it)

Save your money.

It is not a bad book, but there are quite simply books that are way better than this one.

In that style? I could think of a few, but I`m not quite sure if they would do you any good :)

Please let me know more specifically what you are looking for and I`ll try to help :) Forex-specific? Trading in general? Psychology? Etc?

Dirk has a new book out there as in 2010. TL;DR

Does he still praises the strategy to not use any stop losses?
