I sometimes read about closing half a position to protect profits, but I don't understand how one does that. Can someone help please?

LME Trading, plz help

Any one could explain to me how to trade on LME (London Metal exchange), how to close out our open positions? I have difficulty in understanding Carry trades.

I think this applies only to US accounts then because in the UK we don't have the same system.

Hi everybody!
my name is Nico, and I'm new to trading.
I started six months ago and ever since focused on Forex (eur/usd) and Dow jones intraday swing trading.
I'd be grateful to know what performance, what return on capital I should expect in my first year of trading.
At the moment, I prefer to trade Forex on the 1min/10min timeframe with a 6 pt stop loss.
What kind of reward/risk ratio should I aim to?
