Fears about the political situation in Italy have eased, giving investors some less risk aversion. The main indexes closed in different directions. In the foreign exchange market, the Euro recovered part of the lost ground in the previous sessions, having been fixed against the Dollar at USD 1.16. In business terms, Bayer rose more than 4 percent as investors monitored the news that US authorities had authorized the purchase of Monsanto by the German company for 66 M.USD after a two-year process, which lays down the obligation to establish*the sale of the agricultural unit of Bayer to BASF. Regarding the economic indicators published today, the consumer confidence index in the Euro Zone fell in May from 112.7 to 112.5.

Today was a desperate attempt by the fed to prop the s&p up.
More downside to come - below 24,000 on the dow within 10 days.
Longer term 2018 could be the beginning of the USA's 'lost decade'.
Tomorrow if the dow keeps going up, I could look like a complete fool 😉

I see the funds selling to do some business here, but still more in the tank, and more business to be done higher up. Really think that the bigger entities know we are moving into fragile territory in the coming months, so it is wise to do what they are doing.
Still think the highs from 9 days ago is the next location, if we move through this without too much selling then 2800 S&P is next.
Euro and pound both fired aggressively into major longer term lows, so should be due a decent bounce here to accommodate a rise in the major indices.
Still need a decent move upside in the next 2 days to get anything from the weekly comp though:whistling

Short again at 7723 - if I get another 20 or so off it today I'll most likely sit on my hands until after tomorrow's numbers.
BTW: Whatever Dentist may pretend about his method I can assure you that it's more Chicken Bones, pentagrams and incantations than anything so innocent as tealeaves.

I would be watching closely if it went above 7730 (not going to hold it days on end again if it goes in the wrong direction)
That level should be some resistance today.
