Does anyone have experience of a US based outfit called Allegro? They promote a set of black-box signal generators which are primarily aimed at trading the S&P and Nasdaq on different time frames, with special emphasis on Allegro's proprietary money management. The business model is similar to Trendsignal, in that a significant one-off payment is required, plus some overhead monthly, although recently there was a special offer of a limited (!) number of seats at a discounted rate (reminiscent of the announcement from Trendsignal that rental seats were no longer available, and only 250 seats on offer in total).
Stated returns seem implausibly high. They quote annualised growth over the first quarter of nearly 300% for the S&P intra-day system:
Notional capital on 5/1/04: $25,000
Capital on 16/4/04: $44,198
% Change: 76.8%
% Annualised: 259.6%
