10 FTSE100 most trade-able shares

Just a thought.
If you are keeping bets open over night then stock liquidity should be a consideration. Many stocks open with such huge market spreads they are untradable for up to 2 hours and you can find yourself locked in. III is an example. Stocks such as VOD on the other hand are tradable at small spreads within minutes of the opening.

I would say don't bother.

Trade the US market, bigger moves, tighter spread no Stamp Duty, more choice, cheaper execution rates...

You are a real Mr.C. convert. Did you enjoy your day?

What's happened to the automatic IB trading system, P&F trading etc?

Not meant to be derogatory, simply a welcome to the select band of US stock traders.

JT....If he's using DF4 then the spreads are often tighter on The UK stocks tyan on US stocks. With D4F someone like MSFT would be 5 points whereas RBS who move a reasonable amount each day would have a spread of only 2 points.

P.s....i trade US stocks :).......

Picking stocks from ft100 ?
Here are a couple of simple tips.

keep to the top 50 or so stocks which you are happy will stay
in the top 100. Trading stocks which may drop out is a different
game.

You should always know what a stocks FT relative chart looks like.
Rotation, Rotation, Rotation.

You should always have an up to date diary of scheduled news
events for each stock and start giving their charts close attention
in the lead up to each announcement.

Try not to trade through the news. It's probably already been
researched by the big houses. Close before and reenter
afterwards (maybe in the other direction).

Simple stuff really, but hope it helps.

Thanks bonsai and all. JT you're referring to IB not D4F regarding tighter spreads ? And i'd like to ask both JT and temporarilylight what time frames they use. Multiple ? EOD ? Seems that price movement per day affects stock selection. Any other favourites out there ?
Have good days guys,
Jesse.

I use a daily chart for picking which stocks i entend to watch the following day.

I then tend to use a 5min chart once the stock opens to help guide my entry

hope that helps

I scan ftse 100 for changes of intermediate trend (breaches
of swing highs/lows). Then refine on the basis of good volatility
good volume.

In addition I keep a close eye on the top 14 (by capitalisation)

hope this helps
