I trade liquid markets so the spread is only 1tick
I don't trade with targets, imo its like telling the market what it should do next
Yes, it works very well, but you need cheap commissions for it to be effective
If you're scalping you should be earning the spread!! If you have to pay a spread then your are completely underutilised and way behind the game before you even start
This poll for scalpers only , i know it may different from market to market but what is the stop loss points averge for scalping method either order stop loss or mental stoploss ?
Stocks DayT (0.5%) Examples: $100 a share gets $0.50 $50 a share gets $0.25
SPY Futures (2 for full-3 points for mini)
DOW mini (20 points)
EUR/USD (10 points)
USD/JPY (10 points)
20 points stop on FTSE will never work for scalping. Bear in mind, you are taking 2 - 5points profit per contract, so to lose 20 points on a bad call (inevitable!), you need the next 4 - 10 profitable trades to get back to b/e.
I reckon 5 - 10 points for stop, leaning more to 5 points and seeking better entries but with FTSE volatility of late, 5 points will get hit a lot.
Hope this helps.

How many point on FTSE Futures. I agree with most of the above, although I use 25 points on EURUSD from a pivot level.
I trade the FTSE and use 20 pts stop-loss, and make a profit. I target 5-10 pts per trade, but i say 1 in 5 trades i take more then 10 pts. My first and only trade today took 23 pts.
5-10 pts SL would be far too tight for my trading style
