wireless works but wired connection doesn't

i have recently installed the OPX/SPX on my desktop and laptop. they both run XP. i installed it because i wanted to play an old game that relied on IPX/SPX. after installing i can not seem to connect the the local area connection. however i can connect via my laptop using wireless. i tired connection using local area network on my laptop and does not work.....when acquiring network address it then says limid or no connectivity. i have already tried uninstalling the IPX/SPX, still does not work..............................affected both my laptop and desktop.....

any help would be great....cheers guys,....

Check the binding order on the LAN NIC

I would guess that IPX/SPX is binding first.

I would also guess you were trying to play network Doom....

lol........problem solved..............hey many thanks jonny t............the problem was that i set mac address filter in my router and not i have disabled it...............no the game is not doom.............tiberian sun (lan) thanks for your help once again. what does binding mean?
