Hi, I wonder if anybody could recommend a news service that you use when trading the forex market?

I don't think Bloomberg Professional is for me as I'm just a small individual trader. I've just completed my 30 days trial of eSignal news pack and the Dow Jones service is good, but at a price of $115.00 / $158.00 I find that it's a little on the high side. Does anybody here use any alternative that is cheaper is as good if not better that Dow Jones?

Please advise.

Thanks!

Try the free trial of Market News International http://www.marketnews.com/index.jsp It's out of your price range but at least it will give you an idea of what a news wire service should be like (not quite as good as Bloomberg or Reuters but definitely a good value). Then try http://needtoknownews.com/index.php It is audio but is the only other service that I have tried that reports economic releases in a timely manor and I think it is in your price range. Dow Jones and Thompson are painfully slow.

Cheers,

in matter of facts routers is unbeatable but it is very expensive .. for you it's better to find a better execution provider before searching for news feed

Have a look at Refcofx.com - they have a full news service including technical reports

Thanks everybody, your imput is valuable to me for getting things up. :)

GJ, I am currently trading using eSignal's AGet and that is just based on technicals. I always close a position usually before the news are out then re-establish positions 4-5 hours after the big movement has died down.

when I was using eSignal's DowJones trial package, I do find that I have more control as I get economic release just as it is out, and with that, I can decide whether to hold or close my positions.

I'm currently trading through CBFX and using eSignal as my data provider.

Would appreciate if you'd share some thoughts. Thanks!

If anybody has any advise to add in, please go ahead, I appreciate everyone's thoughts on this. :)

Thanks!!

Reuben, I have tried it out when I was with FXCM, but I don't think the updates are on time. It's usually delayed for up to a minute or more. :(

You can also use the website/demo from Saxo, where you get Dow Jones, Market News International and AFX free: www.saxobank.com.

You can also use Etrade's Global Trader demo, which is a white label for Saxo.

You can use the newsservice from Saxo's website free, if you are a member (free). You can only use the demo 20 days or so. But try it.
