hi all, i have a samsung x15. On battery says:

11.1v-4800mAH (does 4800 mAH = 4.8amps?)

and on the ac adapter says:

input 100-240v 1.8a
output 19v 3.16a

Do i buy a adaptor with a rating of output 19v of the 11.1v on the battery? no in car adapter outputs 11.1v. Thanks

oh, is this one ok?
• Works with most notebook computers
•Stabilized output, low ripple and low interference
•Adjustable output voltage (15,16,18,19,20, 22 and 24Vdc)
•Output 3.5A max (2.9A on 22 & 24Vdc)
•High efficiency and low energy consumption
•Power LED monitor
•Includes 5 interchangeable power plugs
•10A fuse for overload protection

laptop adaptor

hi

i noticed in halfords the other day for 20 quid you can get an adaptor that turns your cigarette lighter into a 3 pin plug - good for laptops and any other low power device. bargin.

check the ampage

Yeah pretty sure - though id check the power ratings on it - there are several grades so if you are really worried you might wanna spend a bit more and get the one that runs fridges as well so you can pug in both to have your self a cool beer at the end of the days trading at the beach through your mobile!

the problem with powersupplies and thier overheating comes from the Amps that are drawn through them - the general rule to go by is make sure the laptop adaptor doesnt draw more Amps than the car adaptor.

if your unsure - take it into halfords and ask them to compare the amps - general rule of thumb ... make sure the car adaptor is higher rating than the laptop adaptor..
