First you should realize that it depends what for? To be honest, you could go to Stockholm, get a 2:1join a small firm & work your ******** off as well as being good at what you do. Then you are bound to get recommended or scouted. Get a 2:1 or greater, a 1st would be a lot better. Then just get as much work experience as possible. It also depends what you want to do for an IB. If it is an execution trader, there should be no problem - but believe me, after having experience in what they do - it's pretty much 50k a year for pressing a button. If it is being an analyst or in M&A, you need to be an egg-head, but you are going to be getting paid off-shore in bullion. I was talking to the fund manager I am going to do experience with, he says they first look at quality of degree (Obviously what it is in as well), then where it is from, then work experience & life experience. I know it sounds silly, just walk into any brokers in Stockholm, be as friendly as possible & try & organize work experience.
