Hi all.

Anyone know of a cheap futures brokerage in the UK to trade US futures. I want a GBP account and just a fast execution platform with no charting.

ATM I am with FXCM Securities that charge $12 per round-turn (see http://docs.fxcorporate.com/commission-schedule-fxcms.pdf ). MF Global charge $14. IB seems ok but the charge for data feeds (i can't day-trade delayed data) and their terrible in-house trading platform puts me off.

I've heard that more than $9 per round-turn is a rip-off so where can I get better?

MF Global are negotiable on fees, especially if you are a regular trader. I have used them for ages (including when they were Man Direct) and they have never disappointed.

If I use a Futures brokerage in the UK does that mean I can keep my money in £GBP, still trade US Futures Indices and avoid the [cable] currency exposure that I am currently exposed to by using a Futures brokerage in the US where my money is held in $dollars ??

Is that a bad sign or what?

Oh I didn't mean it in a "bad/good" way... just pointing out an interesting fact. In my opinion it's a good thing, the Financial Times is a great newspaper and that brokerage is trying to separate themselves from the ravenous mob of internet traders/brokerages that exists online.

The advertisement is a simple 1/8H small one, so I wouldn't take too much meaning either good or bad from it.

I use a US broker called AMP but has anyone tried Berkeley Futures Limited in London?

I've used them for years. Friendly, reliable, not pompous. You can now trade with them direct from eSignal charts. If you're a swing trader eSignal 10min delayed charts are incredibly cheap at around £50/m for everything worldwide. Or you can have realtime with free Globex data for around £100/m inc VAT. eSignal is filtered before you get it to remove spikes caused, I think, by two banks swopping stock at prices not available to the public. Result is their prices correspond exactly to those shown on CME. You'll never notice the slight delay. Commission is not the lowest, but when you think about it, commission is important only for people who trade many, many times per day. I don't. At the moment eSignal Version 10.6 is still slightly better than the new Version 11.3 but that can't last. Both versions are available and you can use both if you want to.

Thanks for the clarification

agrokid,

Thanks for the info. The last time I spoke with Berkeley Futures they were quite friendly and not pushy at all. In fact they said I was welcome to drop in over at their offices down on Saville Row so I think I may take them up on that. As for eSignal I haven't used them for years since I started trading with itradepod using the ninjatrader platform and cqg data feed. I remember esignal to be quite pricey especially when using market profile trading charts because esignal charged around $80+ per month back then just for the market profile add-on so I was paying near $350 per month all in. Now I get free CQG data via AMP, my ninjatrader trader platform licence is paid off and I view a live market profile indicator chart on itradepod's screens although I could purchase it for a one-off payment for less than the monthly fee that I was paying to esignal.

I'd be amazed if you had problems at 10USD rt. You must be a highly valued customer.
