The Thomson Reuters / University of Michigan consumer sentiment index rose to 76.3 from 73.8 in January. Median according to Bloomberg visits to the 65 economist estimates, the market expected that the index increased to 74.8.
During the recession that ended in June 2009, the index mean was 64.2; in the five years before the outbreak of the economic recession, the index is an average of 89.
