Under the threat of a financial cliff, United States in December last year, the factory orders still increased due to Department of Defense spending rose. But the increase was less than market expectations, reduction in non-durable goods orders, offset by demand from construction equipment and computers.
Released by the Ministry of Commerce, December factory orders increase by 1.8% from the previous month to 462.52 billion dollars. Higher than the previous month's 0.3% increase. But 2.3% below Bloomberg interviewers’ economists estimated.
