Would someone explain what the difference is between the
FTSE 100 Cash index (ukx) and the FTSE 100 Futures (z).

Can I trade the Cash index through a broker? Or just with the spread firms?

Is there any significant differences? Margin requirements etc?

Kind regards

Paul

You can only trade a cash index through a s/b firm - the 'real world' trade futures.

It's the weighted avearge value of the top (by value) 100 UK companies. It's used as abenchmark index, same as the Dow, Nikkei etc.
