Has anyone tried loading TS 2000i onto a PC with windows 7 operating system ?.

Does it work and are there any issues.

Yes I think this has been done and was discussed on the Technical Trader private forum. You can apply to join it and then read what others have done.

Check your User Control Settings and you can apply to join from there.

Thanks for the reply. Am registered in the "Technical Trader private forum". But, am unable to find the thread/post relating to this topic. Should I make a post directly in the private forum for the same? Please guide me. Thanks. :)

The thread title is "Prosuite 2000i on Vista" - but also discussed Windows 7.

Thanks "gc1" & "Trader333" for the helpful tips. I checked the threads out, used search command for the "Technical Trader" forums and got many threads. Then, did search command for each of those threads also. Got lot of useful information relating to "windows" but not to "Windows 7".

Thanks so much for the help. Can I ask the following:
Has anyone used TradeStation on Windows 7?

Have asked the same in the "Technical Trader" forum in the following thread:

Thanks, wheezergeezer :)
Did you have to set the EXE properties special to make it work? Thanks.

I had installed on 64 bit, but it was'nt happy with that so,
I reinstalled on 32 bit which was much better, but I still had a few problems...I eventually contacted
hyperserver support who sorted it out in around 10 minutes flat....
and I got on with trading, now it works fine, but to be perfectly honest,
you can't beat Win XP Pro.....
( I have another copy installed on another hard drive as backup )
you may want to check the user account control settings or turn them off as they gave me problems as I believe they restrict you from installing items

Thanks, wheezergeezer :)
So, it seems not to work on 64 bit, but it seems to work on 32 bit, after you sort out a few things? Am I correct?

Banter,
the code for 2000i, was probably written for 32 bit machine's, there were few 64 bit machine's around then ! ( I'm just guessing that's the case) I'm not saying that it won't work on a 64 bit platform either, but the guys at hyperserver support have all the updates etc....it makes life a lot easier as they do it day in day out....its there business..
but good luck,:)

Wouldn`t it work via VMware? I think about installing a slim 64-bit OS with only VMware installed - and installing different VMs with different OS (Win98 - Win2k - WinXP) and utilizing such a VM with a 32-bit OS for installation of legacy trading software.

Regards

Hittfeld

Hittfield, I'm not to sure what VMware is...(virtual machine) ? but as I said in ealier posts, 2000i works very well with XP Pro and Win 7, I did have a few problems with the 64bit version but they may have been because of me being a bit thick !
as for Win98 & Win2k, I personally would'nt recommend or use those old O/s

Hi WG,

You may have already answered this but did you try and use TS2Ki with Vista and if so how did it perform ?

Paul

Hi Paul,
yes I have Tradestation 2000i installed on Vista (home Ed.) on a laptop it performs ok,
I dont like vista that much, but I prefer to use a desktop pc as there is more Ram and power in general ie, 2 monitors, faster processor...etc
finally I have 2 copies of 2000i installed on two hard drives, one running XP Pro and the other Win 7....a bit excessive but I had a motherboard burn out and nearly catch fire a year ago so hence the caution, Regards, john

Thanks John, can you answer one more question, is it better on Vista or Windows 7 ?
