Is anyone else watching the Tour de France?

ITV4 has an hour's worth of highlights each day usually at 13:00 and 19:00.

We actually currently have a Brit in contention for the yellow jersey in the shape of Bradley Wiggins, who is around 5th place, but not that far in time behind the leaders.

Another Brit Mark Cavendish has had 2 stage wins, and was wearing the green points jersey for a lot of the tour so far.

The incredible Lance Armstrong is back after a 3 1/2 year retirement and is currently 2nd in the overall classification, just a couple of seconds behind leader Italy's Rinaldo Nocentini.

So, another stage win for Mark Cavendish, although he is still not wearing green again yet.

Sounded as though Wiggins got caught not paying attention when a split happened in the peleton on the run in to the finish.

I would say the TDF is without doubt the greatest sporting event... I love it...

If Armstrong wins he must surely be one of the greatest athletes of all time ? if he;s not that already... he's a truly inspiring person...

ITV's take on this was that he was unlucky. Mind you, they might be biased

Apparently the judges changed their minds today and he's back at no. 5.
A slightly indiscreet interview on ITV4 though (slagging off the judges ).

Yes, fantastic! (Stage 11). And back in green.

Would have been good if they could have found Barry Hoban (whose record he's just equalled) and interviewed him. He was a great guy, as were people like Sean Yates, and Robert Millar, the other few British contenders of recent decades.


Armstrong: indeed. I hope he wins, with Cavendish still in Green and Wiggins somewhere in the top 5 I guess Armstrong could get in a few more wins before he hits 40.

Kudos too of course to Alberto Contador, overall winner, and Lance Armstrong, 3rd overall (at the age of 37 and after 3 1/2 years out.

yep, great results for the Brits, although Cav must be gutted not to get the green jersey, just pipped by 10 points.
