Time to panic!

I've decided I'm going to take five grand out tomorrow in cash, converting a grand each to Euros, Yen, Swiss Francs and Kruggerands. I have a reasonably safe place to store them.

From my point of view this is a sensible insurance policy... I expect transaction costs will be at least four or five hundred quid.

Anyone else tempted?

Very wise to get a range of currencies - I never saw Mr Bond playing the tables with GBP.

You're missing the point... This is for insurance. Five grand balances affordability with enough money to buy something useful in survival terms during a crisis.

A real insurance would be ...

- own a piece of land and grow your food yourself
- have weapons in your house
- have goods around to barter



If you worry, have a plan ... if you panic, make sure, you panic first

Well you are not going to get far buying anything in a crisis with yen , swiss francs or euros unless you happen to be in the respective countries at the time.

Why not just buy your survival items now in case you cannot buy them during your crisis then stash away some gold and sterling.

i live right next to the Jungle so thats were I am going... I can live on free Banana's and coconuts until the madness is over and the world is at last Utopian. no cash required (I am sure there will be plenty of booze and hookers in there as well -- this is Thailand after all)
