With all the discussion, in the press;
and the focus on oil prices by financial markets
I thought I would post a real Crude oil price chart since 1973.
I have simply divided the Crude oil price by the US CPI.
The actual number is irrelevant, just the comparative levels over time.
As you will see, current prices are 50% below 1990 levels,
and well, well below 1979 levels.
So no oil price shock yet.
But obviously could go higher, on valuation grounds alone.
