Hi Everyone,

I am don't have trading experience or whatsoever but am definitely interested in Trading and Stocks. I am a B.S. Mathematics graduate but I never had the chance to learn Tradings and Stocks. Sadly I do not understand the "numbers" on the news, except that it's a high, low, loss or gain and nothing more. I am interested to learn even the crisp of trading and stocks from this site. Hopefully this would help me understand in depth even the basics of trading and stocks.... I hope that you guys can share your thoughts and enlighten me. Thank you in advance.

First off you're not interested in trading because a) you would have picked a business discipline at university b) you would have learned about the markets (aside from the trading and analysis aspect) already . You're interested in money like most of us on here who actually want to learn as opposed to talking smack and you want to capitalise on your quantative degree.

Now that that is out of the way, what the f--k does that mean.

Get a trading book to learn the terminology/abbreviations (IB DHLC etc.) otherwise you'll get lost when the better traders make a post. Also, I'm told reading Trader Dante's "Making Money" thread is a good place to start but although I'm new to trading myself I won't read it out of principle.

Trade demo, work on your technical analysis *cough* and fundamental *cough* then come to Potential Setups thread. Post a chart of your analysis or give a heads up when you think price is at an interesting level to enter a trade -long or short- and if you make senseyou'll get repped by some people who actually know what they're doing, if not, you'll get ignored. The system works.
