Errm, doesn't a monthly competition normally start at the beginning of the month? You're not telling me I've wasted a week of my meaningless life slaving over a hot chart for nothing!

The competition should have started earlier and we had a few issues which have now been resolved so apologies that it was later than we would have liked.

So if the comp started later than normal. How come everyone who had already started was not reset?

Paul did you check what I asked about the comp last month.i believe the winner took a position to protect his lead on the lat day. Thanks

re: T2W Forex Contest - Mar 2012 - Win iPads & iPods!

I am not really in a position to make judgments of that nature and going down this route could lead to all sorts of accusations at any stage in the competition which is not how we wish things to progress. I may ask someone else to look into this.

paul, how can you say this when the rules are clearly stated in the rules posting of every new comp. i realise it could be a bit tricky to enforce, but only the 1st place guy needs to be checked, so not overly much effort surely?. the rules are there because everyone can see everyone elses positions etc. it a fair rule.

Mirroring of trades to retain first position lead is disallowed and may result in disqualification.

And the 2nd place as he may try and hold off the 3rd place in the last few days. what is happening about this months contest.Surely there has to now be a zero time when we all start again.monday am would be good

re: T2W Forex Contest - Mar 2012 - Win iPads & iPods!

LM / LF,

Yes I agree with your points and all I was saying is that it may not be me that does the checking. The whole contest is an iterative process in that we are learning as we go along and trying to adapt to what is best. I will be starting a thread asking members for suggestions on how it can be improved soon. We have had a few already such as not having USD as the main pair for all currencies but I expect there are other good ideas out there.

As we have always started on the Sunday, then maybe we should set last Sunday at the start date as people have commented on those who have already placed trades.

Well at the moment i'm holding off doing anything because I don't know whats happening. Hopefully this can be resolved asap...time is money etc etc .

re: T2W Forex Contest - Mar 2012 - Win iPads & iPods!

surely this sunday would be better,or zero trades taken before announced start time.the comp with recent prizes could be a strong selling point and i feel need the attention it deserves.Im happy to participate with decent prizes and im sure otheres will join in.Maybe a flat stake or 1 or a max of 2 lots will enhance its performance and stop people averaging and chasing etc

I really don't see the relevance of stake sizing limitations etc ...At the start of the comp we all have the same pot ...the idea is to grow it anyway we see fit and accept the consequences of over sizing or over trading etc, as the margin requirement will stop us out anyhow.

At least consideration has been given to the ALL USD crosses issue which if resolved would be the best single decision in terms of creating a level playing field for all and I expect participation would also increase.

point taken as we have a level playing field, but it would make it more of a trading comp if we had limited lots etc otherwise we are playing a game of not much to do with sensible trading. But if its the same for all then I have no real problem with it
