T2W advertiser ACFX

Unfortunately these types of things tend to get exposed when Felix doesn't get paid his protection money. He's certainly a class act.

Are saying they advertise on T2W ?
If so- have you told the Mods and will they remove the advertisement?:whistling

Yes I saw an ad this morning. It was a banner, and no I havnt told the mods, that sort of news seems most unwelcome nowadays.

Here is the ad, banner at top right.

I have been assured that 'decisive action' will be taken....

Perhaps they'll decide to do nothing, or maybe they'll decide to delete this thread..

Time will tell

STOP PRESS: BREAKING NEWS: Dodgy broker advertising on trading forums !!

It's deja vous (all over again.)

Doing nothing is a decisive action - ie they decided to do nothing ! Lol

Not aimed at you mate - but there is no way these boards can turn away advertsing revenue whosoever from and it remains a 'buyer beware' duty of the participalting trader/aspiring trader to do their own diligence (or not !) - that's the way it is - perfect system ? No absolutely not - but there it is - It won't change radically anytime soon.

Dodgy broker advertising on trading forum that said they wouldn't be taking any more dodgy ads.

Anyhow there is another one that is offering a free e book but requires a telephone number. Lets see what happens with that one.

I'm inclined to agree that the situation is unlikely to change. However, we are constantly being told that things WILL change.

Haven't you heard, t2w is going to be a shining beacon :p

Would you draw the line at a broker previously fined for defrauding its clients?

I presume that this promise must have been made in the long awaited announcement that Steve promised to make before he departed for his holiday ?

Prior to that announcement ( that I haven't actually seen) they only promised to ensure that in future, advertisers would be reviewed rather than leaving the decision to publish to 'teh office junior' at an agency.

There's clearly a spectrum of dodgy dealings. Lets get things in perspective. They are comfortable with promoting the services of brokers who have historically been found guilty of fraudulent activities, and fined tens of millions for unscrupulous shinnanagins. In comparison, a bit of forum shilling, and false testimonials probably isn't really going to cause anyone the slightest concern.

I presume that as the advert was accepted, and continues to be shown, t2w would argue that this particular broker is not dodgy (and that's an opinion that that are entitled to hold)

From a practical perspective, t2w has no actual proof that staff employed by the broker was providing false testimonials. Forex peace army are hardly a reliable source of information.

I don't have to draw any lines - I don't run a trading forum that at it's heart has an un-squarable dichotemy and operates in an environment where the grounds have irreversibly shifted and it has only just noticed - but alas it can do nothing about it - this reflected in it's unsolvable dichotemy.

As a buyer though - I would always do my own homework.

Now we have a guy advertising on T2W that wants people to copy others' trades.
But he must be legit cos he's regulated in Cyprus and allowed to advertise on
T2W ; so that's as good as being regulated by the FSA in the uk - right ?:-0:eek:
