Hello everyone. I trade a couple automated strategies using Index Futures. I started a weblog a couple weeks ago in trying to transition from my paper journal to an e-journal. It is strictly system based.
I thought I would post a link to the weblog when it updates in case anyone is interested. I do not want to discuss the logic behind the trades really so maybe this is not appropriate. I was just hoping for some interaction and possibly to invoke some dicussion with other automated system traders.
My Zapper strategy took a long position shortly after the close. Hopefully, I am buying a good value. I will exit this trade shortly after the open tommorrow.
Zapper is short the 6 contacts on the ES at 1,204.75 ahead of NFP tommorrow morning. I wonder if it knows something? This should be interesting. Luckily, this is Trade No. 13. Talk about omens.....
Well the NFP came up well short of expectations. Problem is no one knows if that is good or bad. A little drama went into this one, but apparently Zapper knew what to do. Covered 6 contacts at 1,203 for a total of 1.75 pts per contract or 7 ticks. 42 ticks total for a profit of $ 525.00
My core strategy took a short position on the Russell this afternoon. Looks like a rocky ride. Some bargain hunters out there, but we are going with the herd for the day. Short 7 contracts on the ER2 at 621. Exit at close today.
This was a double distribution day and a new value area developed at the end of the day. My short wasn't going anywhere to speak of...there was good buying just below value. I did manage to squeak out a few ticks though. SL covered at 619.80 at the close for 12 ticks profit on 7 contracts for a total 84 ticks or $840.00 . Sweet Lettuce
You probably think I'm nuts. (Hmmm). We will long up on the ES over the weekend. There was some nice interest at the end of the day. Hoping for a little boost on Monday morning after everyone has time to unwind. Long 6 contracts on the ES at 1,197.75. I will exit on Monday morning shortly after the open. Geezy. I am glad this day is over. What a weird afternoon. The cash and the futures were all out of whack. My equity was up $1300 one minute and zero the next. Don't these people know how hard that can be on the nerves. SL managed to squeak out a profit. Exited 7 contracts at the close at 623.20 for a total of 12 ticks times 7 contacts or 84 ticks for $840.00. Things closed high in the bell curve today.
Zapper went short. I hope this means things will return to value and then move up tommorrow morning. Short the ES 7 contracts at 1197.75. Will exit shortly after open tommorrow morning. Good night.
