Stock sector.

Hi all,

Where can I find out the sector of a stock ?
I've tried looking at the free sites like yahoo and msn eg: Stock quotes | London stock exchange quote | UK stock quote | Stock market quotes - MSN Money UK

but can't see anywhere where the sector would be ????

Industry Index By Sector: Industry Center - Yahoo! Finance for USA

Yahoo! Finance - FTSE 100, Share Prices, Charts, News and more... for UK

and every stock should have a SECTOR information on 😉

IMHO 😀 To find out things, you don't try hard enough 🙄

but, unless I'm missing something, what I wanted was to search for a listed company and find what sector it is in, not look at each sector to find the company ?

EVERY company has a PROFILE and there you ALWAYS find the sector 😉

It looks like the UK side does, but not the US. If you check 'FNSR' for example, there is no sector reported.

Google ... I know, this is NEW 😉

FNSR - Finisar Corporation - Google Finance

FNSR search for it and you will find out immediately 🙂

even on YAHOO

this time, no profile, but the competitors or on Google the sector.

Subscription is free, and the service is very good; not only each company comes with its sector, but you can also check what companies make a particular sector, too.
