How do i get my hands on a list of all ftse shares which are stamp duty exempt.

Its hard to day trade when your already 0.5% down so short term buy sells i think need to to be with tax duty exempt companies.

For example randgold which indecently just paid for my new office today !!

cbrads is right, SB is good for trading. Its the only access to trading I have.

But I'm going to jump in and say there's a sweet spot, in which it works very well and the areas outside that you'll get killed. So, for day-trading, the spreads and variability of the spreads make this high risk. Its widely held that it can't be done. For holding beyond 2 months, costs will make it still more economical to hold the shares. Between intra-day and >2mths, its absolutely fine.

What aspect of Spread Betting worries you?

Spread betting firms are well regulated in the UK by the FCA, as long as you understand and respect leverage and are aware of the costs I can't foresee any issues.

Most folks here trade the markets with spread betting...
