spooked by spikes

B

Black Swan

no matter how many times I see them when you get spikes, such as just witnessed on GBP/YEN, GBP/USD, I never fail to get spooked/slightly paralysed...fortunately and it is no more than fortune (although I was in trades according to my plan) I'm was/remain the right side of the trades...still raises the blood presure though...

Why don't you fade the news and add to your position or take a quick profit?

shorted GBP/YEN at 12:30 am, didn't reach my TP to close out the trade...went long with cable at 7 pm yesterday...GBP/YEN has been a fookin mess (for me) this week...

Bummer man. As I remember reading somewhere on here, when you're hot, you're hot and when you're not, you're not.

I tend not to get too fixated on a particular currency pairs behaviour, but GBP/YEN has been a right tw@t this week, whether flying autopilot or taking over the controls :)......I trade nine pairs so the probs. tend to work in my favour. Pip count good so far this week...trades I'm in atm all 'good'.

The GBP spike was due to the indecision by MPC policy makers on whether or not to create more loony tunes Q.E. free digits for the banks to sit on and not lend out there in the 'real world'.....

We have too many, that's the point

I know mate, mine is that it's worthless...better carry on making more of the useless digits in order that my wheelbarrow truly over floweth when I pop down to Sainsburys....or Aldi...still all that fresh paper will give the kids something to play with...

So dim economics question here, if our reserves are huge, why aren't we using them instead of using QE?

Or am I missing something here?

ok - that makes sense to me. i realised some time ago that the problem is the poor credit risk of people, rather than capital available to lend.

why the public can't get their head around the paradigm of banks should not take excessive risk vs pls lend to high risk consumers to get economy going.

Was there anything in the queen's speech about the dying administration forcing through a bill to make people spend money they don't have, after all that's going to be their legacy - that and a bloated state that took about 1m out of unemployment to act as our public servants.............

and another how many million in very low paid state subsidised employment via family work tax credit payments !

and the erosion of our civil liberties to add insult to injury.

Apparently they are going to try to get a bill passed that enacts in law, 37 rights that children have to a good education.

Enforceable? Useful? Disempowering what little authority teacher's have to teach?

The misappropriation of the law by this administration is staggering. The further politicisation of the police is phenomenal (although to be fair, Thatcher started that with the miner's strike).

By centralising control and disempowering people, don't they realise that they've caused the bulk of the problems they puport to try and fix?

The tighter you grip, the quicker the sand rund through your fingers.............

I honestly believe they want to run us into the ground.
Not only to ruin things for the tories but they would actually prefer it that way
even if they get back in. Maybe they want a khmer rouge style year zero. It feels like we're on the way to it.

i blame arabianights

It's actually your fault really isn't it - no point in deflecting blame on arabian and using him as the fall guy for all your incompetence dressed up as intellect.

Arabian's to blame for the rest of the problems in the world. Everybody knows that.
