I have been trading with a demo account now for roughly 9 months and in that time I have turned £100,000 of fake money into £500,000 of fake money. However I have never used charting software to do this or looked at trends or support and resistance levels. Its always been using the general news and company news, getting to know the hype around different companies (either good or bad) etc
I want to start trading for real however as I have limited capital I'm willing to risk at this point I am inclining towards spread betting. However the prices seem to change awfully quickly and I am confused about software.
I don't understand how you can use software with a datafeed from somewhere to make decisions on going long or short with a spread bet company whos prices are different or by the time you have analysed on your chosen software, and got into place an order with your spread bet company the price has changed and you've missed the boat (I particularly like short term trades).
Do people just use the software that the spread betting company provides, for example Capital Spreads seems to be a well used company, do traders just use their software? If not how do they get their own software to integrate with capital spreads? Can you use your software to set automatic buy levels etc?
I have read around a fair bit but this part still confuses me.
Any help appreciated
