Just wondering - what's everyone's opinion on the instrument I should use to trade levereged short term. I used to trade covered warrants and like the fact that:

- You don't have to worry about margin
- Can go long or short
- Don't need a specialist broker
- Can't lose more than you initial investment.

Are there any other products that may share these characteristics.

I went to a proprietary trading firm that used the 'bobles' or something like that - does anyone know what they are (some euro bond or something)

Whats your definition of short term? Mine is 5 mins, Warren Buffets is 5 years.

I'd say liquidity (volume & spread) nd volatility are the important things to look at when considering time frame.

The prop firm were trading a German Fixed Income Future (German Government Bond) Its often sprea against the Bund (longer maturity) or Schatz (shorter) on the Eurex exchange. Its a good future to trade short term also.

my short term

I concede the point of short term - mine is more of a swing short term - or anything where I can get about over 10% in a trade. With warrants this was anything from an hour to a few days. That's about the timeframe I'm looking for.

Usually trade the FTSE but just wondered if there is a more volatile market that is less out of the spotlight.
